Xiaomi has officially released MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 7.8.10 for Redmi Note 4/4X and Mi 6. This is the public beta, so any Redmi Note 4 and Mi 6 owners can download and install the ROM on their device and experience the lightning fast MIUI 9 (Android 7.0 Nougat). If you are already on MIUI 8 public beta, check the MIUI 9 update on your device by opening Updater app. Other users need to install the Fastboot ROM.

The Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9 is fully optimized to bring a lightning fast performance on any supported Redmi or Mi devices. It comes with a handful of new features like Split screen, new icons, new animations, latest security patches, improved silent mode and mode. MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM 7.8.10 downloads available for Redmi Note 4/4X and Mi 6. In the second batch, Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5/Mi 5s/Mi 5s Plus, Mi Max 2/Mi Max /and Redmi 4/4X will get the update.

In the third batch, Redmi 2/Redmi 2 Prime, Mi 3, Mi 4, Redmi Note 3 SD, Redmi Note 4 MTK, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note Prime, Mi 2/2S, Mi Note, Redmi 3/Prime , Redmi 3S/Prime and Redmi 4A will get the MIUI 9 update.

How to Install MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM

Recovery method:

Note: Your device should be running on MIUI 8 Global Beta version.

1. Save the downloaded recovery image (link above) on your phone’s internal storage.

2. Launch the ‘Updater’ app on your phone. Tap the setting icon (3 dots) at the top-right corner, select ‘Choose update package’, and choose the ROM zip file you have just saved on your phone.

3. The flashing process will start and this will take some time to finish.

Once the installation process is finished, your device should automatically boot to the new version.

Fastboot method:

Note: This process will wipe your device, so back up important data before proceeding.
