Android 7.1.2 Nougat based LineageOS custom ROM is now available for OnePlus 2. When compared to Android 7.1.1, there were no major changes in Android 7.1.2, but the 7.1.2 update improves system stability and performance. Also, the update includes April 5th Android security patches. Google has already rolled out Android 7.1.2 Nougat update for eligible Pixel Nexus devices and now OnePlus 2 is getting the update, unofficially though.

OnePlus 2 is the first non-Google device to get Android 7.1.2 Nougat update, unofficially though. An unofficial build (probably LineageOS 14.2) is now available for the device that you can try out right now. There were no major bugs in this ROM, but since it is an unofficial build, you may experience some unknown bugs. If you are ready to face few issues, head over to the installation instruction below.

Note that, version number of this LineageOS build is not authorized yet, as there were no official LineageOS build based on Android 7.1.2. The developer has left it as Lineage OS 14.1, but most probably, it will be LineageOS 14.2 or LineageOS 15.

Developed by the XDA contributor Seraph08, the Android 7.1.2 Nougat based LineageOS for OnePlus 2 is almost stable, but it may include bugs that are not yet identified.

How to Install LineageOS (Android 7.1.2) on OnePlus 2

Disclaimer: The guide is for tech-savvy users only. It must be done entirely at your own risk. We cannot take responsibility for anything that goes wrong.

1. Your phone should be rooted with custom TWRP recovery setup.

2. Download the Lineage OS based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat from here /source. Also, download the latest Gapps (arm 64/ Android 7.1) from here.

3. Transfer ROM and Gapps zip files to the phone storage.

4. Reboot your OnePlus 2 into TWRP recovery.

5. In TWRP recover, choose ‘Backup’ and take a complete Nandroid backup (recommended).

6. Now, choose ‘Install’ navigate to Lineage OS zip file, select it and swipe right to flash. Before rebooting, flash the Gapps zip file also.

7. Finally, reboot your phone.
