Before you start, note that the CyanogenMod 14.1 is a Nightly build, which means it is unstable and may include several bugs that are not yet identified. Therefore, it is advised to wait for the CM 14.1 snapshot build. However, if you are ready to face few issues, install CM14.1 right way on your Android One device.

Note: The file mentioned in this guide is for 2nd Gen Android One devices (seed). Do not install it on 1st Gen Android One devices (sprout). Backup every data on the phone before proceeding.

The below guide assume that you have a bootloader unlocked Android One device with root access and latest version of TWRP recovery (v.3.0.2) installed.

  1. Hi, please note that the latest official TWPR for seed is not yet updated to handle CM’s updater app. If users want to update to latest nightly, they need to download the zip and flash normally using TWRP. CM updater app is not recommended until the patched official TWRP is released.
