Installing custom ROMs like CyanogenMod provides extra tools, functions and options, including some that can boost the performance of a device. Here is how to install official CyanogenMod 11 ROM on LG G2 International variant. CyanogenMod 11 (currently nightly build) brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with its own features to LG G2 (D802).

Follow the instruction given below to update your LG G2 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat with official CyanogenMod 11 ROM.

Important: Backup your contacts, SMS, WhatsApp messages, email and other data using apps like Titanium Backup. Also, make Nandroid back up via custom recovery.

Prerequisites:

– LG G2 must be rooted and bootloader unlocked
– Custom recovery installed (CWM/TWRP)
– Official CM 11 ROM zip file (download latest version from here)
– Gapps zip file (download for CM 11 from here)

Installation Instruction:

1. Copy the downloaded CM 11 ROM zip file and the Gapps zip file to the root of the internal storage of your LG G2.

2. Turn off your device and boot into recovery mode. To do so, hold down Volume down & Power button, when the LG logo appears release buttons and press them again, then press the Power button three times.

3. From recovery, perform a full data wipe.

a. For CWM custom recovery, perform “wipe data/factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and from advanced option perform “wipe dalvik cache”.

b. For TWRP custom recovery, tap on “Wipe” and perform “Swipe to Factory Reset”.

4. Now, flash CM11 ROM and Gapps. To do so, select “Install Zip”, then “Select Zip” and choose the CM 11 ROM zip file. Similarly, select “Install Zip”, then “Select Zip” and choose the Gapps zip file. Finally reboot your device.

You have successfully installed CyanogenMod 11 ROM on your LG G2. Enjoy!

Note: The ROM is still in nightly stages. Though, it seem to be pretty stable and ready for daily use, keep in mind that you may notice some problems here and there.
