Google Chrome has an inbuilt PDF viewer that allows you to view PDF files right in the browser, but only when you click on a PDF link on the Internet, not possible with PDF files saved on your PC. But, you can do that easily and can make Google Chrome as your default PDF Viewer- no need to install PDF reader like Adobe Reader to view PDF files anymore.chrome-as-pdf-eader
For that, just right click on a PDF file, select Open With, then Choose default program and check the box that says, “always use as default program” (or similar).

Now browse to the Chrome installation path. In Windows XP, got to My Computer – C – My document and Settings – User – Local settings -Application data – Google – Chrome – Application. Here, select Chrome, and click OK to save the settings.

Note: The procedure is more or less similar to other OSs, such as Windows 7 and Vista also. Before doing this, enable ‘show hidden files and folders’ from the folder option menu. (Via)
