The below guide shows the LineageOS 14.1 detailed installation procedure for Huawei Honor 4/4X (code named cherry). However, your device should have root access and latest version of TWRP custom recovery installed on it.

Note: Before proceeding with the below step, we remind you that the present status of the ROM is Nightly, which means the ROM is experimental and may have several bugs.

Note: Backup every data you have on the phone before proceeding with below steps.

How to install LineageOS 14.1(official) on Huawei Honor 4/4X

1. Download LineageOS 14.1 zip from here and Google apps package (arm, 7.1) from here. Transfer both the zip files to your phone’s SD card.

2. Boot your device into custom TWRP recovery (switch off the phone, press Volume Up + Power button together)

3. In TWRP recovery, select Backup button to create a backup of your current firmware, just in case. Then, select Wipe, then Factory Reset and wipe cache, system and data.

4. Now, select Install, navigate to /sdcard and select the ROM zip package. Follow the on-screen notices to install the package. Install Gapps zip file as well.

Once installation has finished, return to the main menu and select Reboot, then System. The device will now boot into Android 7.1.1 Nougat (LineageOS 14.1). Set up and enjoy.
