Samsung’s flagships let you use volume up key to turn on the torch when the screen is off, but Samsung has removed this feature from Galaxy S6/S6 Edge for some reason. If you find yourself using the flashlight as a torch more than most, you can bring back the feature on Galaxy S6/S6 Edge without root access. Read on to know how it is.

You can use volume up key to turn on the torch in Galaxy S6/S6 Edge by installing a simple app called ‘TorchLight Enabler’. Developed by an XDA contributor xperiacle, this simple app enables torch when pressing the volume up key when the screen is off. And, what is great with this app is that it does not require root access on your Galaxy S6.

Installing and setting up ‘TorchLight Enabler’ for Galaxy S6/S6 Edge is quite simple. This little app has a torchlight timeout option that lets you save both the LED flashlight and battery on your phone.

You can download TorchLight Enabler apk from [HERE]. Just install the apk (do not forget to enable ‘Unknown sources’ option in settings menu). Once installed, run the app and just turn on the ‘Torch light’ option.

On Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, you can pull down the quick launch bar and toggle the torch icon, but using volume up key for it is certainly a very convenient option in any situation.
