By default, Moto X displays network name or carrier logo on the left side of the status bar. If the network name is longer, it occupies major part of your notification area leaving no space for notifications. However, Moto X provides an option to hide network name.

If your region does not require showing the network name on your phone’s screen, follow the simple guide given below.
To hide network name appeared on the status bar, you must update your Moto X to Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Motorola has started rolling out Android 4.4.4 for Moto X. If you have not updated yet, go to Settings -> About Phone -> System updates and check for available update.

How to hide network name on Moto X

1. Once you have updated your Moto X to Android 4.4.4, open phone Settings -> Mobile network settings.

2. Uncheck the option ‘Show mobile network’. You’re done!

Note that, this method is also applicable to Moto G and Moto E, after updating to Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
