Custom AOD, the first third-party app to customize Samsung Galaxy’s AOD screen (Always On Display) now available on Play store. The app adds rich color image to top or bottom of the black AOD screen, which looks original and make the screen livelier. However, note that the app status is beta (unreleased) and unstable, however Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 owners can tryout the app now.

Once the required accessibility service is enabled, Custom AOD app allows users to add a rich color image to the Always ON Display. Unfortunately, currently only three images are available to customize the AOD screen. Also, no other functions are available in the app, so the app has no great use now.

The developer of the app Dhwani has promised that more customization option will be added to the app in the future. Whatsoever, it’s worth downloading the app as it will encourage the developer to go forward with his project.

For your information, Always On Display (AOD) in Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S7 shows you useful information that’s available at a glance, even if your phone’s display is off. It means you don’t always have to turn on the whole display just to check the time or see if you have notifications.
