However, on some machines you can’t connect Hotspot Shield because of some unknown reasons. Here is a simple solution by Patrick Soon, which may solve the problem.

1. Install HotSpot Shield. After finishing the installation it will open the HotSpot Shield website in your browser. Copy this address from the Address bar of your browser and save it.
2. If you get an error message stating that there is no connectivity, then follow as described below (for Windows XP).
3. Go to: Control Panel – Network Connection – Local Area Connection – Properties
4. In the General Tab un-check the box against Hotspot Shield Helper Driver and click Ok to save it.
5. Close and reopen your web browser and copy and paste the address you previously saved in the address bar of your browser. Then press the refresh icon.
6. The Hotspot Shield Website will now open and assign you an I.P address i.e. it will connect you. It should now work normally as before.

The developers of Tor has now released a free Android version of Tor known as Orbot which will brings the features and functionality of Tor to the Android mobile operating system.

Orbot works differently on different versions of Android phones. Android 1.x devices (G1, Hero, Droid Eris, etc) require the ProxySurf” browser installed to use, which can be downloaded from the Android Market.

For Android 2.x devices (Droid, Nexus One, etc), you must root your device for Orbot to transparently proxy all TCP traffic. For non-rooted phones, you’ll want to manually configure it for your specific needs.

The plug-in called Google Sharing is an anonymizing proxy service, designed for a very particular need.

It will prevent Google from tracing your searches, what websites you visit and what search results you clicked, etc. This is possible only when you are not logged in a Google service like Gmail, Gdocs, etc.

Remember that Google Sharing is not a complete anonymous proxy service. If you browse a non-Google website traffic will be sent to the internet normally.

From my personal experience PaperBoy is a great one (at the time of writing), the only down side that I have noticed is there will be a new ads popping up on a new browser tab every 20 minutes.

As against similar tools, PaperBus allows you create a list of websites you don’t want to surf through PaperBus or anonymously.
