As you all know Jailbreaking allows iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users to download and install extensions and themes that are unavailable through the App Store. But Jailbreaking has a negative side also.

Costin Raiu, director of Kaspersky Lab’s Global Research and Analysis Team, discusses the security risks involved with jailbreaking Apple’s iPhone. In this Q&A with Ryan Naraine, Raiu talks about the Jailbreakme.com vulnerability and exploit and the social engineering techniques used to take advantage of the popularity of jailbreaking utilities.

Download Windows Phone 7 Unlocker ChevronWP7

Tech blogger Raphael Rivera, Chris Walsh and Long Zheng have released an unlocker called ChevronWP7 for Windows Phone 7. It is the first one in this category and allows users to install any apps they want on their phone without a Marketplace developer account.

“Unlocking allows the sideloading of experimental applications that would otherwise can’t be published to the Marketplace, such as those which access private or native APIs”.
“We’ve taken the pain out of the process involved and put together a super simple executable that will allow anyone to unlock any WP7 device on the market using a USB cable and just a couple clicks.”
“This tool is completely safe and reversible for the phone. (The app even allows you to relock the phone.)”

However, it is recommended that nobody should unlock their phone (be it a Windows Phone, iPhone or Android) without knowing what are actually doing.

Turn Your Symbian S60 Phone Into Touchpad, Mouse or Remote Control For PC

SmartTouch is an application that allows you to use your Nokia mobile phone as a Touchpad, mouse and a remote music controller for your computer. The application supports Symbian 5th Edition (S60) phones (example: Nokia MusicXpress 5800) and your PC must be bluetooth enabled.

To transform your Symbian Phone into a touchpad or mouse, following three applications are needed.

1. SmartTouch (0.45) for your Mobile phone. 2. SmartTouch client (0.4) for your computer. 3. Phython 1.9.5 for your memory card. These applications are freeware.

First of all, you need to install Phython 1.9.5 on your phone memory card, than install the Smarttouch_0.4.5.sis on your phone.
Then enable Bluetooth on your computer and phone. Run the server (SmartTouch client) on your PC and the SmartTouch software on your mobile phone.
Now, as usual, on your phone, search for devices and select your computer from the list. Enjoy! (Via)

Google Docs Now Supports Android and iPhone

The free online office solution from Google, Google Docs editor now supports editing documents on Android and iPhone. You can now work on your important memo or make quick note while on the bus, train or from anywhere by just visiting docs.google.com in a browser on your supported mobile devices.

This feature will be introduced within few days and will be available for English-language users around the world on Android with Froyo (version 2.2) and on iOS devices (version 3.0+) including the iPad. Support for other languages will be included later on.

Access Nokia Backup Files on PC With Nokia NBU Explorer
